Fredrick the hobo

Fredrick the hobo is a homeless man who hasn't just fallen on hard times but has lived through hard times his entire life. Not wanting to follow in his fathers foot steps after all that has happened because of where that path leads Fredrick unconsciously finds himself looking in the mirror and seeing his father stare back. he was born in February of '96. it must have been fate that brought him into this cruel world but Fredrick sees it differently. he sees everything as a blessing. trying his whole life to better himself, just trying to find love but in the end its a lost cause.

Fredrick grew up in a broken home, abandoned by his mother by his father he was raised. His dad was to busy fueling his addictions to be there for Fredrick. he taught himself to ride a bike because he knew if he didn't nobody else would. by age 15 he was taken from his father by the court. he was bounced around from foster home to foster home and from facility to facility never knowing how it felt to be cared about.

Fredrick was a felon by age 16, commercial burglary, needing food he broke into a store after hours with a friend. he caught all the heat for it and little Shane got out Scot free. Fredrick spent over two years in facilities hoping that one day this would come to an end and as he hit rock bottom he was introduced to poetry. Edgar Allen Poe was his favorite poet, he didn't just read poetry, he felt it. it was as if it was coursing through his veins. Alone by Poe was Fredrick's theme song he felt like he would never have an Anabelle lee, everyone looked at him with disdain they thought he was a freak but they couldn't imagine that in his heart was the ravens beak.

Fredrick had a big heart, he understood no human would give him the time of day so he developed a love for animals. he found an orphaned raccoon that reminded him of himself so he nursed it back to good health and from that moment a bond was made between Fredrick the hobo and Rudolf the raccoon.

falling into the clutches of old habits his pet, his companion, his friend was the only one there for him. Rudolf gave Fredrick the strength to stand on two legs and to fight his battle against the emptiness inside the battle against addiction.

cc #3: Prison Escape

Helicopter swoops in to free a prisoner in Greece, but escape is foiled in hail of bullets by: Demetris Nellas describes the 4th escape attempt by a convicted killer in a prison in Greece. Using a helicopter two men first tried to take down a prison fence with a hook at the end of a rope after this failed they then lowered a rope so the convict could climb up they opened fire on the guards the convict was shot and the helicopter was forced to land in the prison parking lot.

well if you fail four times you should just give up, I mean if you can't escape the first few times then why keep trying but I have to hand it to him he's determined. He was shot in the leg reportedly the wounds weren't too severe so they are treating him in the prison infirmary. At least this would be escapee didn't get hurt to awful bad. So, i have one more question, why does he have enough freedom to plan these escape attempts? shouldn't he be in like solitary confinement? I mean I've been in a correctional facility with less freedoms than this guy. I was on lock down twenty three hours a day and i didn't kill anyone.

my take on Valentines day

Valentines day, a day for gifts and chocolates. Who doesn't like gifts and chocolates? The people who don't get the gifts and chocolates that's who. I love gifts and chocolates but I never get them, its pitiful. Valentines day is the day after my birthday and for some odd reason my parents always get me valentines day presents, not that that's a bad thing but instead of a birthday cake I get a heart shaped valentines day cake. It wouldn't be so bad if I had a girlfriend but i never do during valentines day its such an odd coincidence isn't it? at least its saved me money on gifts and chocolates. and having your mom as your valentine isn't so bad at least i get some of the chocolates dad buys her.

Valentines day is to commercialized, I mean if you love someone why only show them the love once a year?
Gifts and chocolates are nice and all but is that really how to show affection?
i would rather get something thats sentimental than something store bought.

cc #2: cycling for a cause

"Chris Nicholas is cycling across America for a cause" By: Charisse Gibson, Jan 29, 2013.  Everyone has a calling and cyclist Chris Nicholas's calling is on the open road. "Nicholas is biking across the country hoping to raise awareness for others in need." Nicholas is traveling 6,000 miles from Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon to hopefully increase awareness of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Jude Children's Hospital and The Wounded Warrior Project. you can follow his journey at http://www.runandfinish.com/.
This is inspiring, it kind of reminds me of Forrest Gump but Nicholas has a purpose and a noble purpose it is. Honestly I wouldn't do it because it's a very long way and it's not to warm this time of year.

cc #1: Football is likely to ‘Change’

"Obama says football likely to 'change' because of head injuries" By: Kristene Quan Tuesday, January 29, 2013. President Obama has said it before: he roots for his hometown Chicago Bears and has been known to throw the pigskin around the Oval Office.  But if he had a son, he said he would “have to think long and hard” before letting him on the field. "The head injuries that some football players face sometimes lead to lifelong neurological maladies has the President questioning whether the risks are worth it for college players"
I can see where he's coming from as a father, wanting to protect his kid. It's only right, but these are college players not childeren they should be able to  make their own choices regarding the risk of this sport.
President Obama is more worried about the college players than the NFL. "the NFL players have a union, they’re grown men, they can make some of these decisions on their own, and most of them are well-compensated for the violence they do to their bodies."
The college players are grown too, aren't they? its not like were talking about high school players. that would be different. But he's referring to how the NFL players have something to fall back on if they were injuried unlike the college players. So he would like to see the NCAA making the sport better for the players.

American Dream

The American Dream.  Everyone has a dream and everyone's dream is different.  To accomplish my dream I'll have to reach various goals, these goals include getting at least some of my poetry published, and then going into a branch of the military, perferrably the coast gaurd, followed by going to college for writing and public speaking, and somewhere in there have children.  To accomplish said goals I'll need to work hard, harder than I have been.  So what is my American dream?
To start off, I want to become a published writer and study poetry and writing in general.  I became interested in poetry after my Dad showed me his poems, honestly my dad is my favorite poet followed by Edgar Allen Poe then yours truely. Writing is a way to express your thoughts and feelings, almost everyone can connect in some way, shape, or form. poetry is my release, I use it to cope with the stresses of everyday life.
To follow up, I'd like to join the military. The coast gaurd would be my first choice for the following reasons. First, I'd reap the same benefits as the other branches such as the army or marines. Second, I'd have more freedom than full-time soldiers. For the most part I'd go into the military for the benefits, like going to college for free.
Along with that, I'd like to become a public speaker. Maybe even hold public office.  Most people don't enjoy speaking in front of groups of people but it thrills me. I'm naturally a people person, I have always enjoyed the spot light. I learned this while in Oral communications class last year, I was one of the only students that happily did speeches.
Also, somewhere within all of this I'd like to settle down and have children, but like me my children will be different. I mean how ordinary are names like Jobi, Maynerd, or Leonard. seriously I'd name my kids odd things because hopefully it would help build charcter.
To grasp the whole picture, I feel as if I could make a difference through my writing and speaking. Everyone has an American Dream, everyone's is different and trust me mines pretty different. It may be different but this one is mine and to accomplish it I must achieve the before spoken goals.
